Why are we talking about an Acid? Is it not supposed to be kept off the skin?
….Because, it works!
What is Salicyclic Acid?
- Salicylic acid (another name for beta hydroxy acid) is an effective and non-irritative application for skin.
- Salicylic acid can be found in cleansers, facial creams, and lotions.
Salicyclic acid is used for….
- Salicylic acid is ideal for people with acne and rosacea but can be drying if used too often.
- Use it only once a day if you have dry skin and twice a day if your skin is oily.
- Salicylic acid is particularly successful in treating acne, because it targets oil in hair follicles and exfoliates pores.
- Many well know acne treatment brands use benzoyl peroxide which is more irritating on exposed areas - Salicyclic acid is a good substitute for it
- Salicylic acid is a potent alternative for treating sun-damaged and hyperpigmented skin.
- It should not be used by women who are pregnant or breast-feeding, or by anyone allergic to aspirin.
Happy living & Cheers!
